The sale of an existing medical office building from an area hospital to a physician group lead to the reworking of the existing site and the addition of a state of the art specialty hospital. The creation of a central atrium allows natural light to filter through the core of the facility and provides efficient circulation of the physicians, caregivers and patients through the building. The structure will house the medical offices of several orthopedic sub-specialty divisions as well as the specialty hospital.
Site restrictions led to an elevated design. The building allows for covered patient entry and parking. The curved glass facade softens the western elevation and directs the patient room views toward the north.
