The central goal of this project was to create a Children's Hospital for the community by renovating space in an existing Medical Center.

Early in the planning stages the designers became aware of another growing trend to provide “Family Centered Care” which emphasizes the role of parents and siblings in the healing process. Knowing that family would need to be as close as possible the designers planned the children’s patient rooms to accommodate over night stays of family. For patients requiring longer stays families are provided adjacent suites.

The fourth floor features a 16-bed, 18,000 square foot, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit equipped with the most advance technologies as well as family support areas.
