The central goal of this project was to create a Children's Hospital for the community by renovating space in an existing Medical Center. Patients will have private oversized rooms with sleeping accommodations so a parent can stay in the room comfortably. The Children’s Hospital will feature an open visitation policy for parents of ill children.

A child’s room will be a pain-free zone. Painful procedures, such as IV or needle sticks, will take place in a treatment room so children know when it’s over, and that their rooms are safe places where they can rest, play and sleep without any worries.

To keep life as normal as possible, little children will have a play room and older kids will have their own space to hang out. There will be birthday parties, visits from Santa and homework time. Other activities include pre-procedure education, play, music and art therapy, video games and movies and bedside projects for those not well enough to visit the play room.
